Hat Preview
I've been really busy lately, but here's a few photos of the hat series I've been working on. THREE of the FOUR hats are complete and my fourth one should be finished by Tuesday night. I've dedicated many hours that I could have been sleeping to complete them. When I finish the last one I need to take some really nice photos of them and I will post them up! Also, I will have some illustrations of them once school is done.
Only two more weeks of school...

Sneak Peak
The Sketchbook Project
I finally received my sketchbook today.
Over a month ago, Dave Chow suggested I tried The Sketchbook Project, which is a traveling sketchbook library. Each person is given a sketchbook and a theme. You're suppose to fill it completely and send it back to tour galleries across America. My theme is "Danger, Danger" so this should be fun.

Fall!
Here's my latest creation! A fall dress. I am wearing dumb shoes, making a dumb face, and this dumb photo just doesn't make the dress cute. It's better in person so look for me wearing it sometime! I've recently been really busy with 6 different projects going on at the same time so my clothes making has come to a halt until I get some free time. But I will post pictures of my finished projects soon!

Rapunzel
Here's the pencil drawing of a painting I am doing for Book Cover Illustration. Our assignment was to Illustrate a cover for a childrens book and we were given the choice to pick whichever fairy-tale and/or nursery rhyme we wanted. Here is Rapunzel:
I will be sure to post the process. I think I may try oils... but then again maybe not. I am way to scared and I feel comfortable with acrylic.

Quick Update
I've been slacking lately with my updates. Believe me... I've either been busy, exhausted, emotional, or sick. All the above at some point. But I promise to try and be better with updating frequently during the school year.
Here is some process from my Mexican tile project. The assignment was to design an individual tile at least 6"x6" then our next step was to rotate and repeat 16 times. Here's what I've got for our critique. Comments and suggestions welcomed!

Sewing Machine!
Today I finally received the package I've been waiting for all summer! Patrick's mother was kind enough to send me her mother's Viking.
Completely ignoring my growling stomach, I quickly opened the package, read the manual, and began sewing. 3 hours later I remembered I was starving..
Anyways I just thought I would share with you my excitement and look out for more posts soon, now that I will be able to sew again! I am in pain I am so hungry!! MUST EAT NOW!
Thank You Mrs. Daly for the Sewing Machine!

Learning to Sew! Properly!
This summer I took a sewing class and we learned the basics. Seam-finishing, applying zippers, how to manipulate fabric (pleats and gathering to name a few), and putting together and altering patterns. This class has given me even more motivation to pursue a career in the fashion industry.
I keep changing my mind of my ultimate dream job, but who says I only have to have one! I want to experience all types of jobs dealing with fabric! Be it clothes or home decor, it all sounds so wonderful to me.
Anyways..
Here are my very first garments!
I really should be wearing pants with this tunic. If it was a little longer I would totally wear it out like this.
Hand-sewn embellishments! Didn't take too long... plus it was actually therapeutic.
I look forward to getting a machine soon, so I will continue practicing my new skill!
If anyone is interested in buying either of these pieces let me know! The skirt would fit a curvy lady with a 31" waist and a 40" hipline and the Tunic would fit in between a 38" to MAYBE 40" Bustline.
