Yay Painting.

Hurray! I had one goal this school year and that was to learn how to paint! Although these aren't fantastic, I am still proud of what I had accomplished. I had a lot of encouragement and help from Erik, Pat, Joe, and Glenn and I would like to thank them the most!

Now that school is over in a few days I will be able to do some personal work! I want to get back into oil painting since I am more comfortable with paint and have the patience for it now. We shall see!

...

I laid in bed all day today.
Not entirely true.. I got up threw out some junk, added to my "review" portfolio, and worked for 2 hours.
Been feeling strange lately. It's nothing in particular.. kind of like those days when you just wake up and feel 'meh.' Not good, but not bad. So I will sleep it off!

Good night!

Finished!

My self-portrait is finished and I feel great!
This was my latest challenge.
For the past 3 weeks I have spent hours and shed many tears over this painting. Although, not as many as last time. It feels really great to know that I am slowly getting the hang of painting and now I actually am finding joy in it. I have been able to paint faster, longer, and better!

Many thanks to Pat, Joe, Eric, and Glenn for all the help and encouragement!

DrawSuck! Draw was at CCS this week and here are my not so great gestures and a decent 30 minute figure.
I am also working on another painting... which isn't going my way right now, but will post pictures of the process and final in a few days regardless on how it turns out. Wish me luck..

Peatree.

California!

I love to travel. Especially with the one I Love.

I'm looking forward to going to California on Tuesday!
I have never been there before so it will be exciting to finally be in a new environment.
I am becoming more and more annoyed with school and I find myself getting back into my old habits again.
I miss my car and the freedom it allowed me to have. Not the driving everyone to places, but being able to come and go as I please. Being in the dorms lately have just made me slightly miserable, annoyed, and anxious for freedom! I just want to get out and be away. Away to visit my friends in the universities, read magazines at Borders, and surf the web at Starbucks. Away from the same places and people I see everyday. That's why I cannot wait for my vacation.

Have a relaxing Spring Break.

After many tears and a couple of drinks,
1 year and 30 hours later...

I finally learned how to paint.

Thanks to

Image Making

Here's the latest digital assignment I was given.
We just had to "create something that isn't real."

Critiques please.

I feel that it needs more.. I just don't know what. I had a difficult time focusing today because I felt sick to my stomach all evening..

EDIT:

Here is the finished piece! I tried pushing the backround back, but I was having difficulty doing so.. so I did the best I could.

Recent works. Another Update!

Here are some things I have been working on recently in Eric's class.
Head and Hand studies.
I have been using this really cool face expression book, but now I think I should practice drawing my friends and family so I can really practice getting the likenesses. :) I drew two of my best friends: Brittany and Michelle. Not perfect, but that's why I am practicing!

This is the beginning of my first major painting. I will be posting the process of it, because I need all the critique I can get.
Right now we're just doing head and hand studies from it.
I chose "Invocation" by Lord Leighton
His work is really beautiful and I hope I can pull it off.

And finally here are some digital pieces.
The first one was an editorial piece for my Image Making class.
We had to create a little illustration  for an article about how Youtube has changed our ways of thinking and communication.

And this is a little something I did for fun! It's from a really neat photo I captured by chance in a moving vehicle.

Jellies

Jellyfish are so beautiful. Deadly.. but beautiful.
